How do you celebrate the 20 years of impact you’ve made to the growth and success of SMEs in the Philippines? For us in Mustard Seed Systems Corporation (MSSC), it would only be appropriate to commemorate this milestone with our valued customers and partners who, for the past two decades, have trusted our solutions and believed in our vision of modernizing SME operations in the country. Hence, we organized our FIRST EVER SME Business Trade Show last September 19, 2019 at One Esplanade in Pasay City.
Setting out with the theme, “Empowering SMEs for 20 Years”, we highlighted our growth, showcased trusted solutions from some of the best brands in IT & Services under one roof, shared our plans for the future, and most of all, thanked our growing number of clients nationwide.
20 Years of Sowing the Seeds
Recognizing that the significance of this milestone is only truly appreciated when viewed in the perspective of the people who were there since day 1, our General Manager, Judith Adao, opened the trade show with a short but inspiring presentation of how MSSC, together with its clients, started small with only 5 employees when it first commenced operations; yet continuously grew into a sizeable business.
We began our operations by selling ABSS, an off-the-shelf accounting software, and Point-of-Sale systems before we developed our own payroll management software. Launched in 1999, Philippine Payroll Pro has helped over 5,000+ small and medium-sized businesses automate the way they process their employees’ benefits and compensations. Together with ABSS, these two products forged our path on being a multi-awarded company and prominent solution provider in the country. To date, Mustard Seed caters to 22,000 corporate customers, operates in 6 branches across key cities with one international office in Hong Kong, and is a proud receiver of eighteen awards for both local and international recognitions.
20 Exciting Booths
There is nothing more fun and innovative than witnessing firsthand how world-class applications function. From ERP to CRM, payroll, cloud technology, accounting, network security, building technology, office furniture, mobile money service, and shipping & logistics, we brought together various must-have solutions for different business needs during the trade show.
Through booths and demo stations, attendees had the chance to talk face-to-face with product experts. The event was also a great opportunity to network and share business strategies with like-minded entrepreneurs, decision-makers, and industry leaders.
To show appreciation for all the support given by our customers, we did not hold back from giving away exclusive freebies and discounts. For our anniversary month, we offered the Starter Edition of our homegrown payroll brand – Philippine Payroll Enterprise for FREE for the whole month of September. We also collaborated with Deskera to give away FREE CRM Software to all trade show attendees; which is also bundled with FREE onboarding workshop to help our customers go live with ease. While for Mustbuy.ph shoppers, we are offering an exclusive deal of up to 15% discount on selected ZKTeco biometric products until December 31, 2019.

What’s Next: New Seeds to Grow
Aside from organizing our FIRST EVER SME Business Trade Show, we have implemented other projects to make it easier for small businesses to get the products and services they need. We improved our internal processes, launched Mustbuy.ph, unveiled the newest version for their Philippine Payroll Enterprise, and started providing offshore implementation support for SAP and NetSuite.
But at the core of these projects, giveaways, product booths, and new partnerships, is our raw sincerity to salute our clients. We know that this achievement is because of the trust and support of our partners who played a vital role in our growth and success.
